I always smile when i get an e-mail from Alicia Wittink. I’ve been taking photos of her family for years now, and each time I Alicia’s pop up in my inbox, I know it’s fall once again.
Each year we pick a new location, somewhere the kids can run and the dog can, well, get soaking wet. Which is the way it should be. I’m not a fan of white-backdrop studio photography, or it’s cousin, the matching-shirt school of photography. I like kids to be beautiful and messy all at the same time.
People will often ask me, “How long is a shoot?” And the answer is alwasy the same: “Until we get great pictures.”
